Places I Remember is a series of abstract landscapes inspired by my memories of buildings I lived in or spent a significant time in. Each painting is accompanied by a short poem. In this series, I’ve incorporated hand drawn patterns and impasto techniques using casein paint with layer upon layer of watercolor and gouache paints for a unique texture in the finished piece.
A place I lived when I was very young. I remember the bright full moon outside the night window, the fence I left open that allowed the dog to escape, searching with flashlights in the early morning dark for worms to use as fishing bait, and some not so fun stuff too.
