I have started research and studies for a new series exploring the way we remember and how memories shape us.
The words quoted above were written by Don Kudloff in the back of my grandfather's 1949 senior yearbook. I thought they were a fitting meditation for reflection on 2018 and inspiration for 2019. I hope they stir something in you as well.
I've been thinking a lot about legacy, and how the decisions we make and the work we do impacts the world around us even when we don't intend it.
For this new collection, I'll be mining my collection of antique family photos, and searching out some other sources for antique photos and ephemera as well.
I'm not sure where this project will take me, but it started with these yearbook photos and the messages written in the margins.
